Let’s be real…Life isn’t Always Rainbows and Unicorns…Last Sunday

I love World Communion Sunday. Celebrated this Sunday (October 7th), it calls Christians to focus on what unites us – the Eucharist. Christians throughout the world, regardless of their denomination, theology, politics, language, location, gender, and economic status, will gather for the meal that remembers Jesus. The Eucharist (Holy Communion) is the meal where Jesus is remembered and where we are called once more to his work in the world.

To celebrate our unity in the midst of our diversity, we will share a wide variety of breads including sourdough, wholegrain, walnut raisin, challah, pumpernickel, cornbread and pita. These are the breads of many lands that are baked and given to feed us, body and soul.

You are invited by Christ to the feast at both 9 and 10:30 a.m. We also invite you to wear ethnic clothing to World Communion Sunday, to help represent the Christians from many nations joined together by the Eucharist.

This week we also finish our series with a focus on how God meets us in our failures and redeems us.  If you have struggled with failure (I know I have),  I hope you will join in-
